Oregon Democrats Cram More Taxes Down Our Throats

Would someone PLEASE tell me why the State of Oregon, or the Feds for that matter, feel the need to provide health insurance for EVERYONE?
Now I am not lacking in compassion. I give to many organizations for the poor and I heavily support missions which also help the poor both in Oregon and in other countries.
What I am frustrated about is this: for the first 10-12 years of my adult life I had no insurance. I worked in radio which pays NOTHING. Benefits? Ha!
So, when I had to go to the doctor or dentist I had to work out payments with them, just like any other bill I had. Utilities, rent, credit card, whatever, it was just another bill to pay and I made very little money so I really had to be careful and budget carefully. I cut things out of my life that I couldn't afford until the bill was paid off.
Now, I am most fortunate and God has blessed me with a spouse who has employer paid insurance so I don't have to worry anymore, but, I do know what it is to go without.
Why can't the government just leave us alone? If folks can't afford insurance, they just have to learn, as I did, how to budget and work within their means.
It was NEVER the founding father's intentions to be the "provider" of all things to the people. NEVER!!
The Democrats in the House today passed a $382 million dollar tax on small businesses to pay for health insurance. Where do you think those small businesses are going to cut first to afford this tax? A)Cut employees? B)Cut benefits C)Cut and run to another state? Probably all three.

If you really care, you need to call, email and write our representatives and senators in the Oregon legislature RIGHT NOW and have ALL tax proposals put on a ballot for the PEOPLE to decide!

One Really Great Conservative Lawmaker In Oregon!

Alright, I really should have started the title as "one OF the great conservative....". He is not the ONLY one but he is a good one!
I am talking about Rep. Bruce Hanna of District 7, basically the Douglas County/Roseburg area.
I have had the privilege of meeting him and having him as a guest on the radio show and he is just plain outstanding. He is part of the group of Conservative Republicans who are trying to get a REAL budget through the Legislature this session. This budget is called the "Back to Basics Budget for 2009-2011".
It really is a great piece of legislation and is very understandable.
Here is a great video of him talking on the House Floor earlier this month:

He makes sense, he is full of common sense and he is sharp. With Rep. Kim Thatcher, Sen. Ted Ferrioli and a few other brave Conservatives, they are taking on the bozo that is our Governor, Mr. Ted, the famous talking horse.
Be sure and listen to our show Monday through Friday live on 1430 AM, KYKN or on my website you can listen to today's show or old shows.
Rep. Hanna, I applaud you!

I COULD not do the show without him!
Thanks Justonian the man!

Lots of fun!

Star Trek: My review of the NEW film

(Spoiler Alert!)
I saw the new Star Trek movie Saturday and I have to give a short review. Now if you haven't seen it, part of my review will include stuff you won't want to know, so read at your peril.

As a TOTAL Star Trek GEEK and unashamedly I might add, I went into this movie with very skeptical vision. I love JJ Abrams and his films such as the Mission Impossible movies and I love "Lost", so I figured he would make a good movie, but hey, this is Star Trek, you don't mess with Captain Kirk et al.

I was NOT disappointed. It was a GREAT movie! Tons of action, great dialogue, cool effects, all that you could possibly want.
As a Trekker, I was also pleased at how well he took care of the main characters. He didn't compromise them. By using a time travel idea, he was able to create a NEW story line that will enable them to make many more Star Trek movies without running into the old stories.
I can even forsee THE Captain Kirk, William Shatner, making an appearance, much as Leonard Nimoy did as Spock.
You'll have to see it to figure that one out!

I give this one a BIG thumbs up. I will watch it over and over again!
I especially love the guy who plays Leonard McCoy, "Bones", he really captured the essence of Dr. McCoy from the legendary DeForest Kelley (gone on to Star Trek heaven).

All in all a fun film for the whole family. Very little bad language, one small intimate scene that didn't go too far. Lots of good old fashioned Romulan killing too!
Go see it!!

The National Day of Prayer: Censored!!

Today, May 7, 2009 is the annual National Day of Prayer. Now I don't have the time nor the energy to find the origins of this tradition, nor do I care how it started, I just like it.
Of course the Bible tells us many times to pray. Paul said to "Pray constantly" and similar statements, but this day is set aside, much like Sunday is set aside, as a day to stop what we are doing and take a little extra time to pray.
Our new President has decided that this "p
ublic display of prayer" is not befitting of his White House and so yesterday he declared that the day would not be observed "publicly" but instead, he would be in "private" prayer.
Now I am just fine with private prayer, in fact the best praying time I have is in my "prayer closet", but this is the direction our fearless "leader" is taking us. Slowly but surely his TRUE inner thoughts are being exposed, not by anyone but himself.
He says we are "not a Christian nation" and with his Chicago church and political background I could see where he gets that from.

All this to say, of course we don't care what this buffoon says, we will pray anyway and we will pray most assuredly for him.

I, however am taken back to the many times I observed the dear older, gray haired saints of my church. They pray like no one else I know. They pray humbly, deeply and most emphatically from their hearts. I praise and thank God for this simple means of communication that He allows between his creation and the Creator Himself. What an awesome God.

Pray today, pray everyday, pray "unceasingly"!

The new "Bill Post Radio Show" debuts!

I am very excited to announce officially that "The Bill Post Radio Show" will debut on 1430 AM, KYKN on Monday April 27th at 12 Noon!
I am looking forward to this greatly and have waited patiently for many years to get this.
I hope that you will tune in if you are in the Salem-Keizer area a
nd within the 60 mile radius around the area.
I will have some great guests, lots of calls and of course my own style of talk that I don't think is being done anywhere right now!
I have an agent, a great guy w
ho is working on taking the show to a National level and that is very exciting too.
So, I have attached some shots from the VERY successful Salem Tea Party, Spending Revolt last Wednesday the 15th at the State Capital. I had the privilege of being the lead off speaker and that was a blast standing in front of 4-5,000 people with signs and banners, it was awesome! Then I did a live show from their, interviewing many senators and representatives who "get it".
Thank you all for your support over the years and sorry I haven't kept up on my blogging but between Kai's baseball and all the business here at the station, I have been a bit busy!

Will You Join Us On April 15th for a Tea Party?

On April 15th, millions of Americans, all over the USA will be gathering at state capitols, courthouses, city halls and other places to protest the bad government decisions that are drowning us in debt! Putting federal taxpayers on the hook for trillions of dollars borrowed from the international community is morally wrong and fiscally irresponsible. Putting state taxpayers on the hook for billions of bonded debt to pay for immediate and temporary gratification is just plain stupid. Sound off LOUDLY and clearly on the steps of the Capitol so that everyone inside can hear your protest and disapproval!

Here in Salem, we are OFFICIALLY going to have OUR Tea Party starting at 11am with a march with signs and banners and horns and tea bags, and march around the State Capital building, and then at 12 noon a program begins which will include myself and other media members "whipping the crowd up" and introducing Conservatives who BELIEVE that we can TAKE AMERICA BACK!
I would personally like to invite the readers of this blog to register and take part in this event. It's not JUST a protest, it is a chance
FOR ONCE FINALLY, for ALL conservatives whether, Republican, Independent, Libertarian or whatever you call yourself, to come together as one and show the liberals in Congress, the Oregon Legislature and the White House that WE SURROUND THEM!

Today I took my First Helicopter Flight!

Those of you who know me well know that I suffer from many phobias, one of which is heights, or more specifically flying in something that looks like it came from a model toy store.
The thought of flying in a Tinker Toy makes me ill. I have been asked 100 times by our helicopter pilot to fly with him and after refusing politely and then NOT so politely, I finally gave in today and said a prayer : "Dear Father in Heaven, TAKE ME HOME BEFORE THIS FLIPPING THINGS GOES DOWN IN FLAMES!!!"
Well, guess what? It was GREAT!!!
I am addicted and now will probably ride with Captain Patrick Hall every week!
I have attached pictures as evidence for the unbelievers!
Thanks Cap!
