The new "Bill Post Radio Show" debuts!

I am very excited to announce officially that "The Bill Post Radio Show" will debut on 1430 AM, KYKN on Monday April 27th at 12 Noon!
I am looking forward to this greatly and have waited patiently for many years to get this.
I hope that you will tune in if you are in the Salem-Keizer area a
nd within the 60 mile radius around the area.
I will have some great guests, lots of calls and of course my own style of talk that I don't think is being done anywhere right now!
I have an agent, a great guy w
ho is working on taking the show to a National level and that is very exciting too.
So, I have attached some shots from the VERY successful Salem Tea Party, Spending Revolt last Wednesday the 15th at the State Capital. I had the privilege of being the lead off speaker and that was a blast standing in front of 4-5,000 people with signs and banners, it was awesome! Then I did a live show from their, interviewing many senators and representatives who "get it".
Thank you all for your support over the years and sorry I haven't kept up on my blogging but between Kai's baseball and all the business here at the station, I have been a bit busy!

Congratulations Bill! Can I call in and act as your crazy liberal neighbor to the south?

I'd be curious as to your format. How much local material will be covered? Will you be doing research, reading out of the S-J, or parroting the morning line-up? What I'm getting at is; conservatives are notoriously "reactive". We haven't heard anything from those promoting gay marriage in a while. When are they planning to earmark something into a measure? Another example: today's paper mentions that according to AP sources, an OTC version of the "morning-after" pill is now available without parental permission to 17-year olds. A group calling themselves the "Center for Reproductive Rights" is hailing this decision as one based on "science", not politics or religion. What they are actually saying is that terminating a "non-viable" embryo is less harmful than: smoking, drinking alcohol, gambling, voting. This is the kind of stuff I'd like to see addressed on your program. If we're not planning for their next assault upon traditional families and Biblical principles (as unenlightened as they are), we find ourselves wondering what happened!!!

Awsome Bill. We will be looking forward to it.

I think this is exactly what will be on the show. Complaining about how awful Obama is and his liberal, socialist tendencies are and how his tyrannical administration will destroy America. As for this pill, we are not going to stop kids from having sex. Would it be better to get rid of unwanted children who can't be provided for or force a teenager to have a child?

And what is your idea of a traditional family? Because the one man, one woman model is not exactly traditional by historical standards.

And why do you care if gay people want to get married? How will that affect your life?

And why is it that so many Republicans are pro war, pro death penalty, and pro life? Can you explain how that makes ANY sense?

I can't wait to call in to the show...

Mick: Yes. Does that answer you?
Matt: yes, to question 1, BUT, my show is set in Salem-Keizer, Oregon, the state capital, so this show will mostly be on Oregon politics, Salem-Keizer politics and events and all things local. If it touches on National or World issues, it will be on how they might affect the folks here. So, you probably won't get through my call screener if you don't know what the topic is for the day as we won't be doing random calls about random things.

This should also answer Mick's question I think.
The issues around here are the House and Senate bills that are in the legislature right now that don't make sense, the illegal immigrant problem in Oregon, our idiot Governor, our bad school district, our HIGH unemployment rate, second in the nation, timber and more.
I don't really want to ape the national guys, they just bash Obama all day and that gets really old, I will be glad to bash the lady who was talking on her cell phone on the Center Street bridge today and caused a 3 car pileup! That is the kind of stuff I will be hitting on.

Matt: please tell me that you have a deeper reason for your approval of an OTC abortion pill than "we can't stop kids from having sex."??? Are you naive enough to believe that it will not ever be used by girls younger than 17? Would you like your daughter to use this without your consent? If it came down to terminating a "non-viable" embryo and young people taking responsibility for their "behavior", I'd encourage them to put their hopes and dreams on hold while they accept the consequences for their actions. Finally: homosexuals can fornicate to their heart's content, they can sign a document declaring their "civil union". However, I believe "marriage" is Biblical and sacred and homosexuality to be a detestable behavior. Therefore, I will attempt to influence my community with my beliefs, just as those who disagree with me are also allowed to do.

I thought I'd try. But, aping the National guys could get you a spot between Hannity and Beck. I watched an interview recently with the guy who wrote Rupert Murdoch's biography and he that FOX would pander to the left in a second if he thought he could make more money. I'm so glad to hear you're not doing that kind of show and sad that so many people think that Beck or Hannity mean what they say...

That's a tough one, Mick. I don't have kids but I do have three sisters. I just think it's going to happen and that a 15 year old kid shouldn't be punished for acting impulsively and stupidly. Why don't we let them decide instead of us adults pointing our fingers and telling them we know better? Even if we do outlaw it, it won't deter them. Just like the death penalty doesn't deter crime. I honestly don't know how to argue for or against...

And I'm in agreement about homosexuality and it being detestable, but again, you're denying someone their right to pursue happiness and and their civil right. Marriage defined by the Bible and marriage defined by law are different things and I don't want the Bible to be used as the source to define marriage. Mostly because I don't believe that book to be anything but a partial guide to living correctly and I don't think religion should have anything to do with the discussion. I'll always disagree with you and most of my friends on this, but the Bible and Christianity have no place in this discussion...

Bill, congrats on the show. You've been in the biz a long time, I'm glad God has rewarded you with this privilege. Be worthy!

(No pressure, of course!)

I don't believe raising children to be a punishment, Matt. Bill: the sleeping blogspot awakens!!!

With regards to homosexual behavior, I'm not for denying any civil rights. However, there are certain conditions where a homosexual relationship cannot have the exact same rights as a heterosexual relationship: specifically, offspring. They are, however, making every attempt to give the appearance that homosexuality and heterosexuality are basically one in the same. Those pushing homosexual agendas are not as concerned with achieving equality as they are about debunking the efficacy of heterosexual behaviors.

Well, Mick, we're just not going to agree. Of course gay couples can't have children but that seems to be the only differentiator to me. Are you telling me that gay people can't love one another like a man and a woman? Or that they cannot be monogamous? Other than the breeding, I see no reason why we can't just let them be. I can't justify wasting any more of my time to fight the inevitable. Regardless of how we feel about the issue, the simple fact is that they deserve the same rights to be married as we do.

I just don't care if they want to be married or not. We have far bigger issues to deal with than to worry about this. I have not figured out what the fuss is all about. And where will we draw the line at who can and who can't exercise their freedoms? I don't like churches but I'm not going to start pleading with my government to abolish them. But, I have been petitioning to have them start paying their fair share of taxes...

And, I see children as a burden to a 15 year old kid. Why is it any of your business if they want to get an abortion or choose not to have a child?

mick b said...

It appears that we are agreeing to disagree. We can have an intelligent discourse with a free exchange of ideas (which I believe that we are having). Our "big pictures" seem the same to me, but how we both get there, appears different. I don't see children as punishment, but rather a consequence (positive or negative) for a choice made. (Some gushing emotionalists would call them a "gift from God", which is what our oldest son's name means, as does yours.) What do I care if a 15-year girl (where's the male part of this equation, oh that's right....men don't count in the issue of reproductive rights) chooses to have an abortion?

1. I believe abortion to be the murder of an unborn child, regardless of what our socially-progressive judicial system believes
2. It degrades human life
3. It events begins to erode the fabric of our society

Most clear-thinking individuals believe that stealing and murder are wrong and should be punished. Why? Because it affects the quality of the life of the victim, makes life more costly for all of society, and begins to erode our freedoms and feelings of safety. Now if we keep this up, Bill's gonna get jealous and he knows where to find me (esp. on Wed's and Sun's)

The Blunt Matt said...

I think you're right about the premise, Mick, I just don't know if it's up to me and you to decide or for someone to legislate the behavior. And, I think the men can be involved in the decision but, ultimately, it's the woman who has to carry and care for the child as the man can just pick up and go if he chooses. I suppose the woman can too, but it happens much less often...

My mother did name me Matthew for the "gift from God" meaning which is funny because I've also added "to women" since I've decided that's a better translation...

My mother had me at 17 and her life has been difficult but I'm glad she chose to have me (she was on the table geting ready to terminate me when she decided against it) and we'll see how it turns out.

I see the argument about murder and abortion, but I keep reverting back to who gets to make the decision. And again, I don't want to be the one to tell someone what to do with their body. It just doesn't seem to be my place. I do think that if men had to carry the child and give birth, the point would be moot and we'd tell everyone to stay out of our business...

And stealing and murder are wrong, but I think we also make distinctions about what that is as well. The death penalty and war seem to be other problematic areas open for discussion. I have many friends and family in the military who grapple with this issue constantly and have a good friend who considers himself a murderer for some of the things he had to do in Iraq...

This is an argument that will go on as long as people inhabit the Earth and I feel there will never be a complete solution until we have a final judgement by the Man upstairs. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the intelligent discourse...
