Madame President?

Well, we have ourselves a real interesting situation now don't we?
The Democrats have nominated themselves a Black.
The Republicans have nominated a Woman.
Hmmm......so many choices.....
Opening thoughts?
I like Sarah Palin, politically, socially and she seems to be a very intelligent woman.
But, just like the Lord Messiah Barry Obama, she has NO experience.
She does look a lot better then he does, so she gets points for that.
As for what to do in November? Still not sure. I really would have preferred Mitt Romney as VP but I think they would have looked like two rich old white dudes so that was ruled out.
Tom Ridge? Not sure why he was dropped.
I guess I feel sort of sorry for Gov. Palin. I think she is being used politically. That's nothing new, but it still just doesn't feel right.

As for the messiah, all he lacked was robes the other night and he really would have looked even sillier. Why does he put on that accent thing on some speeches and turns it off in others? I thought Bill Clinton was long winded, 44 minute acceptance speech? Yikes, it was like being in Chemistry lab again.

This election, although perhaps "historic" is the most painful Presidential election in my 30 some odd years of voting eligiblity.

Where's Ross Perot when you need him?

I make my predictions now:

Obama wins with only 46% of the vote, as most Conservatives stay home as do the Hillaryistas, meaning we will have a President, just as we did with Clinton, who did not win even a majority of the votes, but rather, won by default.

Either way, McCain or Obama, if one of them dies in office, we are in really bad shape for a President. Joe Biden? Sarah Palin? Yikes.

Is Barack Obama a legal US Citizen?

The following is an article from the July 7, 2008, issue #27 from "The American Free Press" Newspaper, an article by Assistant editor, Pat Shannon.
"It now appears that Barack Obama is consitutionally ineligible for the office of president.
John McCain's eligibility was established in 1964, when courts ruled Sen. Barry Goldwater was eligible although he was born in Arizona when it was a territory, not a state. McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone when it was a U.S. territory and, even as the controlled media continues to ignore the ineligibility of Obama, it will not go away. While few doubt that the Democrats will manage to pull off his nomination, all remain poised to view the legal performance.
The first hurdle will be having Obama produce his birth certificate, which so far he has refused to do, and prove that he was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961, as he has always claimed. There is speculation that his American mother may have brought him to Honolulu shortly after his birth in Kenya , but no proof of that has been shown.
According to the law on the books at the time of Obama's birth, the office of president requires that a candidate be a natural citizen if the child was not born to two U.S. citizen parents. Since he was not, should it be proven that Obama was not born in Hawaii , as claimed, he is ineligible without further debate. Now, assuring that he was born there, he has another problem.
According to a legal researcher who has contacted the AFP, U.S. law very clearly states: "If only one parent is a U.S. citizen at the time of one's birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for a minimum of 10 years, five of which must be after the age of 16." And therein lies Obama's new problem. Barack Obama's father was never a U.S. citizen. Interestingly, there isn't much paperwork on the marriage of Obama's parents, and this has a few researchers speculating that it never took place at all.
On page 27 of "Obama: From Promise to Power", David Mendell writes: "Obama later confessed that he never searched for the government documents on the marriage, although Madelyn (Obama's maternal grandmother) insisted they were legally married." He also notes that Obama's father apparently was not legally divorced from his first wife back in Kenya at the time, a point of contention that ultimately led to their separation. This also would suggest that there may never have been any legal marriage by Obama's parents at all, but the Constitution does not ban an illegitimate child from the White House, as long as he was born inside the U.S.
Obama's mother was born in Kansas and was only 18 when Obama was born. This means even though she satisfied the citizen requirement for 10years, she was not a citizen for at least five years prior to Obama's birth. In essence, the mother alone is not old enough to qualify her son for automatic U.S. citizenship. At most, two years elapsed from his mother turning 16 to the time of Barack Obama's birth when she was 18. His mother would have needed to have been 16 + 5 = 21 years old at the time of Barack Obama's birth for him to be a natural-born citizen. Barack Obama was already three years old at the time his mother turned 21. Technically, Obama should have been naturalized as a citizen, but that, of course, would disqualify him from holding the office of president.
If the allegations are accurate, America could install in January of 2009 a new president who is not even a U.S. citizen, neither born nor naturalized.
It should be demanded that Obama produce his 1961 Hawaiian birth certificate. If he cannot satisfactorily do so, he should be deemed immediately ineligible to hold the office of president."

They have a new coach, Mr. Robbie Robinson who is outstanding!! He is a great Christian, who loves God and loves these boys. He has been just a great witness and example to the boys and of course has taught them much already about football.

We are PUMPED about this season!

On another football note, the Oregon Ducks are ready to roll and KILL the Huskies at Autzen this Saturday!!

Lastly the NFL season is just over a week away and my Bills and Rams are ready to roll! I love Football!!

Why The Church?

I have been studying Ephesians 3:10-11 this week. God has revealed something to me that perhaps is not new to the reader here, but I feel compelled to share anyway in case someone finds this to be new as well.

(NIV) (italics mine) Eph. 3:10-11: "His intent was that NOW, through the Church the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the Heavenly Realms, according to His eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord."

You have to go back to verse 9 to see a bit more into this: "and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things."
1 -What Mystery? Romans 11:33 - "Oh the depths of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!" I Corinthians 2:7 - "No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory".
The mystery is, SALVATION! There are many more verses, but basically even the prophets did not know about this salvation, it was only revealed THROUGH THE CHURCH!

2 - God use ONE way to reveal his mystery: THE CHURCH! Look at 1 Peter 1:12 in refernence to the "heavenly realms" in the scripture written above: "when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the Gospel toyou by the Holy Spirit sent from Heaven. Even ANGELS long to look into these things." !!! ANGELS long to look into these things! Do you understand what that means? EVEN the heavenly beings, Angels, long to know what WE know, if we are Christians, THE CHURCH!

Praise God for The Church, and His People! May we understand the responsibility and the joy that He has given to us!

Oregon Baseball Fans.......I love em!

Only good Oregonian baseball fans would stay for 9 innings of a wet, dreary baseball game, when the home team is getting drilled 13-3!!

I took this photo with my cell phone from my warm and dry press box seat, where I am the public address announcer for the Salem-Keizer Volcano's.

It rained all game long, just not enough to cause the field to be bad enough for the umpires to call the game. So, we watched a horrible game and the 400 or so fans got soaked.

I just love the picture, this die hard couple had their raingear and umbrellas up the whole game and never left until the bitter end.

If you are not from Oregon, then you can't quite appreciate 62 degrees and drizzles that don't really soak, just make you miserable. Baseball in Oregon!

China confiscates Bibles from American Christians

THIS PHOTO JUST ADDED, THIS IS WHAT NBC DOES NOT WANT US TO SEE!

I have been railing for weeks about the persecution of Christians in China, now this story from the Associated Press:

BEIJING - Chinese customs officials confiscated more than 300 Bibles on Sunday from four American Christians who arrived in a southwestern city with plans to distribute them, the group's leader said.

The Bibles were taken from the group's checked luggage after they landed at the airport in the city of Kunming, said Pat Klein, head of Vision Beyond Borders. The group, based in Sheridan, Wyoming, distributes Bibles and Christian teaching materials around the world to "strengthen the persecuted church," according to its Web site.

The group arrived in China on Sunday and had intended to distribute the Bibles to people in the city, Klein told the AP in a telephone interview while still at the airport.
"I heard that there's freedom of religion in China, so why is there a problem for us to bring Bibles?" Klein said. "We had over 300 copies and customs took all of them from us."

The move comes as China hosts the Olympics in Beijing, where false media reports last year claimed Bibles would be banned from the games. The state-run China Daily reported last month that 10,000 bilingual copies of the Bible would be distributed in the Olympic Village, which houses athletes and media.

Bibles are printed under the supervision of the Communist government. The officially atheistic country only allows them to be used in government-sanctioned churches and in some big hotels catering to foreigners.

A woman who was on duty at Kunming airport's customs office confirmed over the telephone that 315 Bibles were found in the passengers' checked baggage.

The officer, who would only give her last name, Xiao, denied confiscating the Bibles. She said authorities were just "taking care" of them and provided no further details. She later said she was not authorized to speak to the media and referred questions to the national customs headquarters in Beijing, which did not answer phones on Sunday.
"We're not selling them; we give them free to the people," Klein said. "We didn't come to cause trouble, we just came to bring Bibles to help out the Chinese Christians."

The Bibles were printed in Chinese, he said.
Klein said the customs officers had told him that they could each have one Bible for personal use and not more than that. He said the officers had videotaped them and were insisting that they leave the airport.

"We don't want to go without taking those books. It cost us a lot of money to bring them here," Klein said. "They're saying that it's illegal to bring the Bibles in and that if we wanted to, we had to apply ahead of time for permission."

China faces routine criticism for its human rights violations and its repression of religious freedom. Religious practice is heavily regulated by the Communist Party, with worship allowed only in party-controlled churches, temples and mosques, while those gathering outside face harassment, arrest and terms in labor camps or prison.

A Chinese Christian activist was detained Aug. 10, the opening weekend of the Olympics, on his way to a church service attended by President Bush in Beijing. A rights group said later that the activist, Hua Huiqi, a leader of the unofficial Protestant church in Beijing, had escaped from police and was in hiding.

Police have denied any involvement in Hua's disappearance.

Still want to support the Olympics, Christians????

Portland Trailblazers Come to Visit!

Greg Oden in his first "official" practice last week.
Last week we had the pleasure of having Portland Trailblazers officials and players in our studios here at 1430 KYKN.

I have to tell you my Blazer history.
I was the BIGGEST fan all the way back to 1974 when the Blazers drafted Bill Walton. Walton was my basketball hero as a teenager. I lived through all of his injuries, weird politics and frequent missing of games, but was greatly rewarded with a Championship and Bill Walton winning the MVP in 1977!

Later as an adult, I was a freak fan during the Drexler, Porter, Duckworth, Williams era when they went to the NBA Championship twice in three years, unfortunately losing.
Then came the "Jail Blazers" era of JR Rider, Rasheed Wallace and more.

I started drifting away and really, in the last 7 years, quit watching them.

NOW I AM BACK ALL THE WAY!!
With Greg Oden, Jared Bayless, Brandon Roy, Travis Outlaw, LaMarcus Aldredge, Rudy Fernandez and the rest, they are a great bunch of guys who are GOOD citizens and GREAT basketball players.

So, I am really looking forward to this season and I hope the return to RIP CITY!!

Here is Blazer's Team President Larry Miller, "the voice of the Blazers", Bill Schonely and me. Schonz loved my circa 1990 T-shirt in his honor!

Here is KYKN Sports Director Justin Herr and I discussing how we were going to do the interviews with the Trailblazer officials.

A Complete Waste of Air

Due to popular demand, I have a new post to this blog.

Nothing.

Yes, nothing. I have nothing to say, no pictures to post, no opinions.
A COMPLETE WASTE OF AIR.

That is the blog's name and that is my entry for today.

Ok, just one little teensy weeny thing:

I don't like what this Rick Warren guy did tonight.
See Shirley Buxton's fine blog entry on this.
Politics IN the church is wrong.
The Church is for healing the sick, physically and spiritually, not for finding out what some idiot politician has in mind for the next four years.
There, how's that for a blog post.

I have been very busy. I am now the Program Director of KYKN Radio AM 1430. No more money just a great title!
I am still on the air every morning and on Saturdays as well.
Then when the Salem-Keizer Volcano's are in town I am back to being "Bill the PA Guy". So, it makes for long days.

Looking forward to a great day at Church tomorrow with my Brothers and Sisters in Christ!
amen?

The Dark Knight: Movie or Political Statement?

Finally, after waiting for two or three weeks, I got to see "The Dark Knight" on Friday.

It was well worth the wait.
Now, if you have not seen the movie: STOP READING NOW, SPOILER COMING!!!
For everyone else who has seen it, I will give my review as a film but more importantly, I want to see if you saw the political statements that were made.

First: Heath Ledger deserves the Oscar for Best Actor, right now. Forget whatever else comes out this year, or has already come out. He is un-freaking-believable!
If someone had not told you that it was him, you would never know. Forget the makeup, he didn't need it.

Now, I am THE biggest Batman freak since I was a kid. I still have hundreds of Batman comics going back to the 1960's, so I am a bit of a snob when it comes to all things Batman, and in this film, like it's predecessor "Batman Begins", was almost 100% true to the original story from the comics. Bob Kane would be happy!

One of the most important elements of the Batman story is that fact that he CANNOT kill anyone. He WILL not kill anyone, not even a madman like the Joker. In the comics, the Joker is the epitome of EVIL. He is not a buffoonish clown as portrayed by Cesar Romero or even the "kind of" evil portrayed by Jack Nicholson. No, he is so evil that he would kill a thousand innocent people just to get the Batman's attention. The Joker is all about chaos, madness, anarchy and the antithesis of The Batman. He is the complete opposite of all that the Batman stands for.
In the movie a great scene is when he has millions and millions of Mob dollars, real money, piled high and burns it all to the ground, and he tells the astonished and angry mobsters "it's not about the money, it's the FUN!" He destroys the Mob better than the cops or even The Batman, but only so that he can then better torment everyone. I love it. Heath Ledger, I wish you had not been so troubled, had lived and perhaps played this character again, and maybe delved deeper into The Joker's crazed mind!

Well anyway, this is exactly what Heath Ledger brought to the screen and the writer and director, Christopher Nolan, got that across.

The Joker used a couple of lines that really illustrate that relationship that the Caped Crusader and he have.
1 - "You complete me". Yes this is a great reference to the STUPID movie "Jerry Mcguire", but it was more than that. The Batman's good works created a vacuum that brought out The Joker.

2 - (I don't remember the line exactly) "we'll do this for eternity", said the Joker to The Batman.

All throughout the years in the comics, Batman would capture the Joker, put him in Arkham Asylum, The Joker would get out, it would start over again and end the same. Occasionally, the Joker would "die" only to find out he had somehow survived. Their battle is never ending. The Batman could beat the snot out of The Joker any day of the week, but he CANNOT kill him, and The Joker knows that and that is HIS fun! (Although getting the crap beat out of you every few weeks has to get tiring, so I assume the Joker's synaptic nerves have been severed at some time in his life?)
Ok, so outside of this, the film itself was just plain OUTSTANDING! I felt like I had held my breath for over 2 hours! The tension in my chest and arms and legs would never let up. That is good filmmaking. If the viewer can not even rest, if the action, dialogue, music is unrelenting, then I am happy!
This film was by far the BEST film I have seen in a long, long time. That is not just from a happy Batman fan, but a film person. The special effects were outstanding but didn't take away from the film itself. The use of angles, lighting and sound were perfect. The acting by all parties (except for the silly Rachel Dawes, a character that was not in the comics played by the really homely Maggie Gyllenhaal) was very realistic and believable.

Overall, I was more than pleased with this movie and HIGHLY recommend it to all (except for the little ones as there is some terrifying moments and when Harvey "Two Face" Dent finally appears, he is quite hideous).

Now, politics?

I firmly believe that the creators behind this movie were making a strong PRO-AMERICA film!
The Joker represented the Muslim extremist terrorists that we as a nation face.
They don't bomb, kill, behead and torture for money. They really don't even do it for an ideal, much as they would like us to believe. No, just as The Joker said, "it's for the anarchy, the chaos".

I really think, and you would have to watch the movie closely, that the filmmakers were going against "the grain" in Hollywood and made an anti-terrorist film, and made a statement about "staying the course" in Iraq and Afghanistan and whereever else WE AMERICANS are needed to stop the evil of terrorism.
I felt it very early on and it was confirmed in many different scenes.

Ok, so that's it, fire away liberal whackos, fire away Batman haters, but I had fun and I was proud of Hollywood for the first time in a long, long time!

2008 Summer Beijing Olympics, are you watching?

I am really looking forward to America kicking some butt in the Olympics, especially in my favorite Olympic games, Basketball and Boxing. I am disappointed that this will be the last year for Baseball.
I am looking forward to the track as well, of course the doping in track and field makes me a bit skeptical about the outcomes.
The big story, I think, will be Mike Phelps. Will he break Mark Spitz's record on total gold medals?
It all begins this Friday!
Please post your thoughts about this Olympics and any memories of past Olympics and I will keep it up to date throughout the Games.
Keep adding posts to this as the Games progress!

Some Intelligence in Hollywood?

Jon Voight has come out with an Op-Ed in the Washington Time and is being barbecued in Hollywood for being a "traitor" and "McCarthy-like".
If Tom Cruise and George Clooney can give their opinions, without scorn from the fellow "actors" in Hollywood, why can Mr. Voight?
Why can't Gary Sinise, who is a strong Conservative and an outstanding actor, producer and writer, give his opinion without being labeled a "crank".
You see friends, Liberals are always spouting off, but they can't stand when one of their own leaves the fold. It drives them nuts. They can't understand a sheep leaving it's flock. Freedom of speech only applies when tearing down the country that gave them that freedom.
Below is the piece from Jon Voight (who by the way will be the villain in the upcoming TV Series "24", woohoo, get 'em Jack Bauer!)
VOIGHT: My concerns for America
Obama sowing socialist seeds in young people
We, as parents, are well aware of the importance of our teachers who teach and program our children. We also know how important it is for our children to play with good-thinking children growing up.
Sen. Barack Obama has grown up with the teaching of very angry, militant white and black people: the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, William Ayers and Rev. Michael Pfleger. We cannot say we are not affected by teachers who are militant and angry. We know too well that we become like them, and Mr. Obama will run this country in their mindset.
The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America.
The Democrats have targeted young people, knowing how easy it is to bring forth whatever is needed to program their minds. I know this process well. I was caught up in the hysteria during the Vietnam era, which was brought about through Marxist propaganda underlying the so-called peace movement. The radicals of that era were successful in giving the communists power to bring forth the killing fields and slaughter 2.5 million people in Cambodia and South Vietnam. Did they stop the war, or did they bring the war to those innocent people? In the end, they turned their backs on all the horror and suffering they helped create and walked away.
Those same leaders who were in the streets in the '60s are very powerful today in their work to bring down the Iraq war and to attack our president, and they have found their way into our schools. William Ayers is a good example of that.
Thank God, today, we have a strong generation of young soldiers who know exactly who they are and what they must do to protect our freedom and our democracy. And we have the leadership of Gen. David Petraeus, who has brought hope and stability to Iraq and prevented the terrorists from establishing a base in that country. Our soldiers are lifting us to an example of patriotism at a time when we've almost forgotten who we are and what is at stake.
If Mr. Obama had his way, he would have pulled our troops from Iraq years ago and initiated an unprecedented bloodbath, turning over that country to the barbarianism of our enemies. With what he has openly stated about his plans for our military, and his lack of understanding about the true nature of our enemies, there's not a cell in my body that can accept the idea that Mr. Obama can keep us safe from the terrorists around the world, and from Iran, which is making great strides toward getting the atomic bomb. And while a misleading portrait of Mr. Obama is being perpetrated by a media controlled by the Democrats, the Obama camp has sent out people to attack the greatness of Sen. John McCain, whose suffering and courage in a Hanoi prison camp is an American legend.
Gen. Wesley Clark, who himself has shame upon him, having been relieved of his command, has done their bidding and become a lying fool in his need to demean a fellow soldier and a true hero.
This is a perilous time, and more than ever, the world needs a united and strong America. If, God forbid, we live to see Mr. Obama president, we will live through a socialist era that America has not seen before, and our country will be weakened in every way.

Cindy McCain for Vice President? Why Not?

Cindy McCain
Not only is she the gorgeous wife of a US Senator and fashion model gorgeous I might add, she is probably the most capable and intelligent potential First Lady or even First Lady PERIOD. The qualifications I list below are just some highlights. I think I may have gotten over my problem with John McCain, as my candidate, I choose CINDY McCAIN for Vice President!!!

She graduated from Southern Cal and was a special-needs teacher. After her Dad died she became involved with his beer distributing firm and is now the chairwoman. Sales have doubled since she has taken over from her father and she was smart enough to get a pre-nup with John that insures she keeps the dough! No offense John, but she EARNED it!

She and John have a 19 year old serving in Iraq, another son in the Naval Academy, a daughter recently graduated from Columbia University, an adopted daughter (see below for her story) in high school, and a son who is the finance guy at the beer firm.

In 1991, Mrs. McCain came across a girl in an orphanage in Bangladesh. Mother Teresa implored Mrs. McCain to take the baby with severe cleft palate. She did so without first telling her husband. The couple adopted the girl who has had a dozen operations to repair her cleft palate and other medical problems.

She's active with 'Halo Trust' - an organization that works to clear land mines, provide water and food in war ravaged and developing countries.
She is active in the overseas mission 'Operation Smile', a charity for corrective surgery on children's faces. She makes many overseas trips, unannounced to help those in need.

She has had two back surgeries and became addicted to pain killers. She talks openly about it which she says is part of the recovery process.

I'm surprised the media is so quiet about her attributes.

She sounds more capable than Hillary or Obama for president and a heck of a lot more capable then Michelle for First Lady. We would really get two for the price of one. She’s a person with business and international experience. Although John did work for the firm for awhile when he left the Navy, she, however, has the real business experience. Very interesting.

Oh yes - one more thing - she has never said she is not proud of her country or that she has never been proud of her country. It seems she has just worked and acted to make it better.
