Maybe Sunday is the Problem?

As I sit listening to some old gospel music on this Sunday morning I am taken back to my childhood and my great grandma Pattison.  On Sunday mornings at her house, she rose early and turned on the radio (later the TV) and listened/watched many Christian programs.  I remember "The Haven of Rest" and others.  With her Bible in her hand she listened, prayed and prepared for Sunday Worship services.

I don't know grandma's political thoughts, don't know if she was a Republican or a Democrat, I was very young.  I do know she loved Jesus with all her heart and showed it in her lifestyle everyday.  I can't help but wonder on thinking back on her, is this what America is missing?

Sunday morning is now taken up with yahoo's yelling at each other on Sunday morning "news" shows and talk radio.  No one ever wins, no one ever loses, it's just loud and obnoxious.
Could it be that my grandma had it right?

I urge you my friend, to put away the politics on Sunday, get a Bible, find a Christian radio or TV show (that's getting harder all the time) and find a good Bible preaching church and THEN just maybe this country will be healed and just maybe you will feel a whole lot better on Monday.

One Really Great Conservative Lawmaker In Oregon!

Alright, I really should have started the title as "one OF the great conservative....". He is not the ONLY one but he is a good one!
I am talking about Rep. Bruce Hanna of District 7, basically the Douglas County/Roseburg area.
I have had the privilege of meeting him and having him as a guest on the radio show and he is just plain outstanding. He is part of the group of Conservative Republicans who are trying to get a REAL budget through the Legislature this session. This budget is called the "Back to Basics Budget for 2009-2011".
It really is a great piece of legislation and is very understandable.
Here is a great video of him talking on the House Floor earlier this month:

He makes sense, he is full of common sense and he is sharp. With Rep. Kim Thatcher, Sen. Ted Ferrioli and a few other brave Conservatives, they are taking on the bozo that is our Governor, Mr. Ted, the famous talking horse.
Be sure and listen to our show Monday through Friday live on 1430 AM, KYKN or on my website you can listen to today's show or old shows.
Rep. Hanna, I applaud you!

Oregon: Blue or Red State?

The question has been posed to me, "isn't Oregon a Blue state?"
My answer was and is, "no". Only 3 or 4 counties are, but the vast majority of Oregon is staunch Republican.
Unfortunately most of those counties are rural, but they count just the same. So, outside of Portland and Eugene, the ENTIRE FREAKING STATE is Republican.

Yes, I know, the POPULATION base is in those counties, but look at the House and Senate. All led by Republicans, so, are we red or blue? You decide.
This has always been a rural, conservative, logging, fishing, hunting, outdoors state, only since the late 1960's when the hippies from San Francisco stumbled north to Eugene and Portland did our politics change and that is shown out by the county by county vote. The old hippies, don't live in the rural areas which is of course very funny and ironic. They come here to "get away from it all and get one with nature" then move to the two biggest cities in the state! Goofs. Same thing happening to Montana, so there is nowhere to escape to now.

Romney Out. There is still Hope!!

Mitt Romney just dropped out. So, that means there is NO Conservative candidate for President.
We are going to have to live with that.
BUT
Do you realize that we still have one third of the Senate and the entire House of Representatives to elect. That is where the REAL power lies.
Remember when Bill Clinton was President, we had a majority Republican Congress and we had the most prosperous times in our history.
NO ONE is talking about this part of the 2008 Elections!
Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and all the rest of the talk shows are ignoring this, wallowing in their grief over the Presidential candidates.
Friends, WE STILL CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!
Let's make sure and get out the word, this is not over yet!!

John McCain is a Liberal!!

Here are some facts:

In 2004, John Kerry and John McCain considered running together to defeat George W. Bush.

In 2007, when asked if Hillary Clinton would make a good president, John McCain said "she would make a fine President".

In 2001, John McCain considered leaving the Republican Party to join Jefferies who became an Independent, throwing control of congress to the Democrats.

John McCain constantly caters and panders to the liberal side of the Republican party and in fact other than on the military, is a liberal on most policies.

After much consideration, I think it is very important to email or message to Gov. Mike Huckabee, telling him that every vote he gets is siphoning votes from the only Conservative left in the campaign who stands a chance to win, Mitt Romney.

Huckabee, CANNOT win. I will not stand by and watch the Republican Party be destroyed by John McCain so I am urging all Conservatives, Christians and anyone who stands for The American Way to cast your vote for Mitt Romney.

Yes, he is in a cult. Some have a problem with that, but I can live with the fact that he is moral, a great businessman, a family man, strong military, strong Pro-Life, strong Anti-Homosexual and very much in the Reagan cut of Conservatism.

Goodbye My Friend, Goodbye American Hope

NAPLES, Fla. - Republican Fred Thompson, the actor-politician who attracted more attention as a potential presidential candidate than as a real one, quit the race for the White House on Tuesday after a string of poor finishes in early primary and caucus states.
"I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort," Thompson said. "Jeri and I will always be grateful for the encouragement and friendship of so many wonderful people."
Thompson's fate was sealed last Saturday in the South Carolina primary, when he finished third in a state that he had said he needed to win.
In the statement, Thompson did not say whether he would endorse any of his former rivals. He was one of a handful of members of Congress who supported Arizona Sen. John McCain in 2000 in his unsuccessful race against George W. Bush for the party nomination.
Thompson, best known as the gruff district attorney on NBC's "Law & Order," placed third in Iowa and South Carolina, two states seemingly in line with his right-leaning pitch and laid-back style, and he fared even worse in the four other states that have held contests thus far. Money already tight, he ran out of it altogether as the losses piled up.
Republican race is wide openThompson, 65, departs the most wide open Republican race in half a century; in the six states that have voted, three candidates have scored wins.
In Florida, McCain, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani are battling for the lead ahead of its Jan. 29 primary, while former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee evaluates his next steps amid money troubles of his own.
Thompson's withdrawal capped a turbulent 10 months that saw him go from hot to not in short order.
He began toying with a presidential run last March, emboldened by a fluid Republican nomination fight and a restive conservative GOP base. He also was charmed by resounding calls for him to get into the race — and his meteoric springtime rise to the top of national and state polls.
Fans trying to draft him as a candidate launched an online effort, seizing on his conservative Senate voting record as well as his lumbering 6-foot-5 frame and deep baritone as they argued that he was right out of central casting. They painted him as the second coming of Ronald Reagan and the would-be savior of a Republican Party demoralized after electoral losses in 2006 at all levels of government.
Expectations rose higher — and his standing in polls started to fall as he failed to meet them.
Thompson played coy about his intentions all the while taking steps to prepare for a formal entrance into the race with a flourish. He cut ties with NBC, visited early voting states and delivered high-profile speeches. And, he started raising money and set up a preliminary campaign organization.
He delayed his expected summertime entrance in the race until fall, perhaps missing an opening created by McCain's near campaign implosion.
Lackluster fundraising, staff departuresAs he prepared to officially join the race, Thompson was plagued by lackluster fundraising; high-profile staff departures, including some prompted by the deep involvement in the campaign of his wife, Jeri, and less-than-stellar performances on the stump. Thompson also endured repeated questions about his career as a lobbyist and his thin Senate record.
Thompson formally announced his bid in early September but hit a rocky patch from the get-go.
His easygoing style and reputation for laziness translated into a light campaign schedule that raised questions about whether he wanted to be president badly enough to fight for it. A spate of inartful answers to campaign-trail questions — on everything from the Terri Schiavo case to Osama bin Laden — didn't help matters.
Though his star had faded, Thompson earned positive reviews for a series of debate performances last fall and earned an endorsement by the National Right to Life Committee. He made a strong effort in Iowa as the year ended with a bus tour of the lead-off caucus state.
But he finished third and went South Carolina, where he hoped to turn around his fortunes — but a win, like the nomination, did not materialize.
My Commentary: this is very sad for the Republican Party. Mitt Romney is a Democrat in sheep's clothing, Mike Huckabee has run a very dirty campaign that does not allow me to be proud to associate with his style of Christianity, John McCain will never have conservatives behind him due to the McCain-Feingold and McCain-Kennedy bills and Ron Paul is a nut.
I hope you all like the sound of Hillary Clinton/John Edwards as your new President/Vice President.

I am here to help you understand the Democrat Brain

That be one scary woman!!

Ok here is a story that will help you understand the Democratic Mind:

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100.
If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:
The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.
So, that's what they decided to do.
The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until on day, the owner threw them a curve.
'Because you are all such good customers,' he said, 'I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20. 'Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.
The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?' They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.
So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay. And so:
The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).
Each of the six was better off than before.
And the first four continued to drink for free.
But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings. 'I only got a dollar out of the $20,'declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,' but he got $10! ''Yeah, that's right,' exclaimed the fifth man. 'I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I! ''That's true!!' shouted the seventh man. 'Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks! ''Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. 'We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor! 'The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.
The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!
And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore.
In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

Now if you understood that story, then you are fine.
If you didn't understand it, welcome to the Democratic Party!!

Fred Thompson looked great in the debate

Fred looked great in this debate and I was not impressed with Mike Huckabee outside of his strong Biblical answers. His immigration stance really bothered me.
Fred is gaining in the polls, looking like a strong second place right now in the early states and of course leading in all of the Southern states.
If you want lower taxes, a strong military, social security reform, Conservative Justices on the Supreme Court, anti-abortion, strong law leadership and more of the wonderful Ronald Reagan style Republican Party, you need to look at Fred.

More Hillary Clinton Talk

Below is a letter from a Canadian concerning "free" public health:

Hey Guys; I saw on the news up here in Canada where Hillary Clinton introduced her new health care plan. Something similar to what we have in Canada. I also heard that Michael Moore was raving about the health care up here in Canada in his latest movie. As someone who lives with the Canada health care plan I thought I would give you some facts about this great medical plan that we have in Canada. First of all:
1) The health care plan in Canada is not free. We pay a premium every month of $96. For Shirley and I to be covered. Sounds great eh. What they don't tell you is how much we pay in taxes to keep the health care system afloat. I am personally in the 55% tax bracket. Yes 55% of my earnings go to taxes. A large portion of that and I am not sure of the exact amount goes directly to health care our #1 expense.
2) I would not classify what we have as health care plan, it is more like a health diagnosis system. You can get into to see a doctor quick enough so he can tell you "yes indeed you are sick or you need an operation" but now the challenge becomes getting treated or operated on. We have waiting lists out the ying yang some as much as 2 years down the road.
3) Rather than fix what is wrong with you the usual tactic in Canada is to prescribe drugs. Have a pain here is a drug to take- not what is causing the pain and why. No time for checking you out because it is more important to move as many patients thru as possible each hour for Government reimbursement.
4) Many Canadians do not have a family Doctor.
5) Don't require emergency treatment as you may wait for hours in the emergency room waiting for treatment.
6) Shirley's dad cut his hand on a power saw a few weeks back and it required that his hand be put in a splint - to our surprise we had to pay $125 for a splint because it is not covered under health care plus we have to pay $60 for each visit for him to check it out each week.
7) Shirley's cousin was diagnosed with a heart blockage. Put on a waiting list. Died before he could get treatment.
8) Government allots so many operations per year. When that is done no more operations, unless you go to your local newspaper and plead your case and embarrass the government then money suddenly appears.
9) The Government takes great pride in telling us how much more they are increasing the funding for health care but waiting lists never get shorter. Government just keeps throwing money at the problem but it never goes away. But they are good at finding new ways to tax us, but they don't call it a tax anymore it is now a user fee.
10) My mother needs an operation for a blockage in her leg but because she is a smoker they will not do it. Despite her and my father paying into the health care system all these years. My Mom is 80 years of age. Now there is talk that maybe we should not treat fat and obese people either because they are a drain on the health care system. Let me see now, what we want in Canada is a health care system for healthy people only. That should reduce our health care costs.
11) Forget getting a second opinion, what you see is what you get.
12) I can spend what money I have left after taxes on booze, cigarettes, junk food and anything else that could kill me but I am not allowed by law to spend my money on getting an operation I need because that would be jumping the queue. I must wait my turn except if I am a hockey player or athlete then I can get looked at right away. Go figure. Where else in the world can you spend money to kill yourself but not allowed to spend money to get healthy.
13) Oh did I mention that immigrants are covered automatically at tax payer expense having never contributed a dollar to the system and pay no premiums.
14) Oh yeah we now give free needles to drug users to try and keep them healthy. Wouldn't want a sickly druggie breaking into your house and stealing your things. But people with diabetes who pay into the health care system have to pay for their needles because it is not covered but the health care system.
I send this out not looking for sympathy but as the election looms in the states you will be hearing more and more about universal health care down there and the advocates will be pointing to Canada. I just want to make sure that you hear the truth about health care up here and have some food for thought and informed questions to ask when broached with this subject. Step wisely and don't make the same mistakes we have.

Kids, Hillary wants that for us. In this week's US News and World Report as well as in our own local paper a story ran about how the UK's "free" public health is so bad, they are short of dentists who will work on the program and so people are resorting to extracting their own teeth with pliers and using Super Glue to re-attach crowns!!

If you are a Hillary fan, I have one simple question:
She was quoted last night as having said: "I am the most singularly qualified person to be President of the United States".
Name 3 things she has done to "qualify to be President of the United States".
You can't say "good mom, faithful wife and senator of New York" as any woman in America can fill the first two and senator of New York was the easiest election she will ever run, the bluest of the blue states and the wife of a President who lives in the biggest city in that state.
So, tell me what she has done?
