Marion County Leads Write In Campaigns

I don't want to brag (ok, yes I do) but if you examine the pdf file linked below, you'll find that out of ALL of the counties in Oregon, in the GOP write in campaigns for State Treasurer (Thomas Cox) and Attorney General (James Buchal), Marion County was the leader in write in votes.  That's a county far behind Washington, Clackamas, Multnomah and Lane in the rest of the state.

Now again, I don't want to brag (ok, yes I do) but I pounded DAILY on my radio show for 3 weeks, "write in Thomas Cox and James Buchal".  I must have said a thousand times how to spell their names, how to fill them in correctly, how to mark the box and so on.  Our station received hundreds of calls from folks wanting to know AGAIN how to spell their names.  We did an outstanding job of getting out the word.  I was very disappointed that the other talk shows in the state didn't work as hard at this.

Now this is not to "toot my horn" it's a call to action!  Just think, if all of the shows in Oregon and all of the grassroots organizations and county GOP groups would put all of their energy into an issue or candidate all at the same would be huge!  Let's stop being distracted by "shiny baubles" and get together and get Oregon back on the right track!

Yes without the assistance of Bill Post advocating for the write-in of these fine candidates we may not have had James Buchal and Thomas Cox as our nominees. I sent a press release out to all the local media once James accepted my request that he consider running for Attorney General of Oregon. But it was not until Bill Post ran with the ball and advocated on behalf of James to our Chair Allen Alley, that James agreed to run with the blessing of the ORP. Once Allen brought the support of the GOP behind James Buchal, Bill Post was the first to invite James on his show to ignite the fire storm of interest in this brilliant candidate for Attorney General.
