You have heard of "tree huggers" right? How about "tree worshippers"? That's right, people who actually "worship" trees.
I found this video while trolling for another story and I couldn't resist.
Whether or not you feel we are truly in the "end times" (of course the "end times" have been the "end times" since the moment Jesus was caught into the clouds but let's forget that for the moment), this is a really, really scary video.
Let's look at Paul's writing in the book of Romans:
Romans 1:25 - THEY EXCHANGED THE TRUTH OF GOD FOR A LIE AND WORSHIPPED CREATED THINGS RATHER THAN THE CREATOR, WHO IS FOREVER, AMEN!
Note in the video they are lifting their hands in praise of the trees, just as we are commanded in Scripture to "lift Holy Hands" to God. Notice the holding hands in prayer towards the trees. Just as we are commanded to "pray unceasingly" to our Father in Heaven.
Note the comment about the "rock and all of the life it has". Remember when Jesus said in Luke 19:40 - "I tell you, if they keep quiet, the rocks will cry out".
Now, Jesus was of course saying, that if WE don't praise him, and we continue to withhold our worship of the True God, then the he'll allow the rocks to worship Him.
Of course He is being somewhat facetious, but the point is, WE don't worship rocks, they don't have life. God IS life, and we owe Him our worship.
Worship of created things is an abomination to God, a breaking of his Commandments and just plain STUPID!
I won't say this "scares" me, but it does drive home the point, that we are closer than ever to the return of Christ, Amen!

Oh thank you Bill I needed a good pee my pants laugh...this did it...I praise God everyday that He is my Creator. I love the things He created but I do not worship them...This video may be sadder then funny...Thanks, Deborah
The interpretation of Holy Scripture here is novel, to say the least. It seems almost as close to gnosticism as the small number of people who allegedly worship rocks. See John Chrysostom's Homily VI on Romans II and St. Symeon the New Theologian's The Discourses X on Perfect Holiness for the traditional Christian perspective on the Scripture cited. Read those and then tell me how you justify advertising and selling cigars and wine at Ava Cigars and daily distorting the views of those you disaqgree with. These are the traditional sources of Christianity, mind you, and it behooves you to read and understand them before changing or innovating with Christianity.
Did you really just say you enjoy the health benefits of cigars?
Looks like some comments got deleted since this morning depite calls on the show today to join in the discussion.
It is not surprising to see this. I quite enjoy Bill's blog because it is not always the way I view things and he will usually play along. Often times, he resorts to what I assume to be his on air persona and attacks. Sometimes he posts things that are a flat out lie and refuses to take them down in spite of overwheling evidence to the contrary. I don't like to be thought of as a hypocrite either, although I am guilty of it often. And I find it hard to reconcile how one can be a devout Christian and a Capitalist at the same time
ethnicguy: I deleted my posts to you after further reflection I felt they were not very kind in their tone, and I was disappointed in what I said to you.

I read St. John Crysostom's Homily VI. I could not find where he criticizes funding radio station programming through advertising a shop selling tobacco products and wine. Perhaps you can enlighten me.
As for your second statement, I disagree that Bill "distorts" others' views.
You disagree? How about outright lying? Did you see his post below about the "numbers" from the election? It was proven to be false and he left it up. Why? That's distortion in my view. Also, I really wish Bill would have left his response up because he actually said he enjoyed the health benefits if cigars. Genius....
