To quote Gallup itself:
In addition to sampling error, question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce error or bias into the findings of public opinion polls.
That should sum up its validity. I don't think conservatism is dead. I think the Republican party is and a split should happen sometime in the next 6 to 10 years...
