Oregon: Home of Abortion, Assisted Suicide and now Hemp!

Yes, we are a PROGESSIVE state we are!
Oregon, the home of self service gas, legislature that only meets every two years, high income taxes (second only to New York City), the leader in assisted suicides and of course one of the leaders in the abortion industry, now is in the business of growing WEED!
At the last minute as the Legislature was "getting outta Dodge" they passed a bill that would allow the production, commerce and possession of "hemp" products and add industrial hemp to crops grown by farmers.

YES I know this isn't Pot, but it's close enough for me.
It just shows what a wacky place we have become. I don't give a rat's turd what GREAT THINGS CAN BE MADE FROM HEMP blah blah blah. All I see are scads of potheads rejoicing in Eugene!
I love my state. Not.

At least all those crazy liberals will keep you employed. If you think about it, it's all the trouble in the world that has given you a job. If everything was fine, you'd have nothing to complain about.

And, what do you care if people want to smoke pot? You should ban alcohol and the pharmaceutical industry as well...

A: I would LOVE to have nothing to talk about, if everything were just great. I'd be on the golf course.
B: I care if people want to smoke pot because it destroys their brains, makes them idiots, and leads to harsher things.
The debate over alcohol is much the same, but prohibition didn't work as we all know.
Why does one NEED to get high anyway?
That is the magic question.

I'm not sure, Bill. I'm not a fan of pot because it makes me lazy and unproductive so I don't partake. But, I know a lot of people who smoke it daily and are highly productive members of society and financially successful. I think people like to alter their reality from time to time and get outside the box, so to speak. People don't like dealing with reality and drugs are the easy escape. I do like my beer and bourbon, though but don't drink very much, either because the hangover is unbearable.

What's your handicap?

I was at one time about a 13, then ballooned up to 25 and now working on a new swing and new clubs so expect it to drop again soon (I hope).
